The following issues are rather similar symptoms, although the fishy odor is unique to Bacterial Vaginosis and would tell you whether you have it.

• Bacterial Vaginosis
• Yeast infection (candidiasis) - careful, many people often have BV and think they have yeast infection - do not make the blunder - if there are some symptoms of BV showing up, then what you have is probably BV and not yeast infection
• Trichomoniasis

Of course, if your doctor has already diagnosed the issue then you already know what is wrong and what needs to be taken care of. Else, you would want read the bacterial vaginosis symptoms to understand whether your symptoms really correspond to BV or not. If most of the symptoms match, then unfortunately you probably do have bacterial vaginosis (BV).
